2D Art - Lighting

This week we discussed lighting. I set up a 3-point light scheme on this set of dice. There is a main light off to the lower right side of the dice. The rim light is a strong orange color behind them.

I painted this still life in Photoshop.

2D Art - Perspective with John Berkey

This week we learned about one, two, and three-point perspective. The artist we studied was John Berkey. I referenced this piece of art by him for my final design.

First, I wanted to change the image in Photoshop a little to match the idea I had in mind.

Next, I started constructing a city scene in Maya based on the image. The parts that most interested me were the buildings in the background and the train railway.

Next, I added a couple of figures to pose as the characters I wanted to include.

Then, I finished the environment and lit the scene.

Finally, I inked the scene in Photoshop.
